How will the Hiring Expo support Anne Arundel residents after federal layoffs?

In light of recent federal layoffs, the Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation is teaming up with Anne Arundel County to host a Federal & Professional Hiring Expo on June 16. This event is designed to connect job seekers with a wide array of employment opportunities and essential support services. More than 90 local employers and resource providers from various industries will be present, offering attendees on-site resume reviews, career development workshops, and free health services, including vaccinations and assistance with healthcare plan enrollment. A representative from AAWDC emphasized the event’s goal of swiftly transitioning individuals from unemployment to new opportunities, particularly targeting those affected by federal workforce reductions. With over 1,300 individuals already registered, the event is expected to meet the high demand for new career opportunities. The expo will take place at the Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland in Hanover, MD, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on June 16. Additional information and registration details are available on the AAWDC website.
