Reporter Mark Gurman says Apple’s forthcoming foldable iPhone, reportedly called the iPhone Duo, will start with a 256GB base storage option and that the 256GB model will be priced at $2,000, while the highest-capacity model would be priced around $3,000 — which, if true, would make it the most expensive iPhone ever.
A previous rumor in March suggested Apple’s first foldable iPhone would come in three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. It is not yet confirmed whether the two higher-capacity models will be available at launch, but it seems likely Apple will use them to establish two higher price points.
iPhone Duo storage and pricing
For context, Apple presently offers the iPhone 17 Pro in the same three storage options — 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB — while the iPhone 17 Pro Max is offered in a fourth 2TB option costing $1,999.
Gurman says the iPhone Duo will ‘go on sale as early as October,’ suggesting it will be available to buy at a later date than the iPhone 18 Pro models, which are also expected to be unveiled today at Apple’s ‘Surprise and Shine’ event.
