Is the Apple Vision Pro Becoming Even More Expensive?

Apple has announced a price increase for its Vision Pro headset, now priced at $3,699, up from the initial $3,499. This adjustment is part of a broader series of price hikes across Apple’s product range, affecting items such as the HomePod mini, Apple TV, and various iPad and Mac models. Notably, the iPhone and AirPods remain unaffected by these changes.

The Vision Pro, initially launched in February 2024, was already considered costly, with its price being a significant barrier to wider adoption. The recent increase further widens the price gap with competitors like Meta’s Quest 3, which is priced at $499.99. This disparity has been highlighted by reviewers as a major challenge for the Vision Pro, which holds a modest 5% share of the XR market compared to Meta’s dominant 75%.

Apple’s decision to raise prices is linked to rising costs in the tech industry, particularly for memory and storage components. CEO Tim Cook has indicated that these increases were “unavoidable.” Despite a previous update to the Vision Pro in October 2025 with new features, the price had remained steady until now.
