Samsung has begun rolling out its One UI 8 update, based on Android 16, for the Galaxy S24 series and its 2024 foldable devices, the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. Initially, the update is available only in South Korea for users who participated in the public beta testing of the foldables. This early release is a smaller package of around 600MB, but a larger 4GB update, packed with UI enhancements, new features, performance improvements, and security patches, will follow for all users. The rollout schedule varies by region and device, with updates expected to reach more countries and models soon. Samsung aims to update millions of Galaxy devices, positioning itself as a leader in software updates, despite previous challenges with One UI 7. Meanwhile, anticipation builds for the release of “Iconic Phones,” a book celebrating notable mobile devices over the past two decades.
