A Reddit user said they used Claude AI to restore internet access and smart features on a Samsung washing machine after the company cut support for the device.
The user bought the washing machine more than 10 years ago. It originally included smart control functionality that allowed the owner to adjust and monitor the machine’s functions via an app. Several years later, Samsung ended support for the machine’s connected features, removing its ability to participate in the owner’s smart home ecosystem.
How Claude AI restored the Samsung washing machine’s internet access
Unwilling to leave the appliance outside their connected home, the owner turned to Claude AI. According to the report, it took about two hours to restore the smart control features, including reestablishing the link between the washing machine and the dryer that automatically sets the required dryer settings once a wash cycle finishes.
The user regained access to the machine’s smart home features after the restoration, returning it to the same connected behavior it had before Samsung discontinued support.
