The Galaxy A5x series by Samsung has gained popularity due to its consistent improvements in hardware and build quality. However, one aspect that continues to hold back the series is the macro camera. For the upcoming Galaxy A57, Samsung could enhance its appeal by removing the macro lens in favor of a telephoto camera.
Macro cameras in the Galaxy A series often go unused after initial excitement, as they offer limited functionality. In contrast, a telephoto lens could provide more value by capturing high-quality, long-range shots. Although the Galaxy A72 was the only A-series model to feature a telephoto camera, it was not continued in subsequent models.
There is potential for Samsung to revisit this decision and reintroduce the telephoto lens in the Galaxy A57. Alternatively, opting for a straightforward dual-camera system could present a more honest approach, avoiding the inclusion of a largely redundant macro camera.
A dual-camera setup could reduce costs or allow Samsung to allocate resources to other enhancements. While some might view the absence of a third camera as a downgrade, many Galaxy A enthusiasts might welcome the change, valuing practicality over the mere number of sensors.
