Apple announced that Tap to Pay on iPhone is now available in eight more countries: Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, and Peru.
Tap to Pay on iPhone allows businesses to accept contactless payments on an iPhone with no point-of-sale hardware required. Customers can simply tap their own iPhone or Apple Watch, a credit card or debit card, or another contactless payment option on the merchant’s iPhone.
How Tap to Pay on iPhone works
The feature enables merchants to receive contactless payments directly on an iPhone, removing the need for dedicated card readers or other point-of-sale terminals. Transactions can be completed when a customer taps a compatible device or card against the merchant’s iPhone.
