The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026 has concluded, unveiling a series of major updates from Apple. The spotlight was on the new Siri AI, which is now available as a standalone app and integrated into Apple’s latest operating systems. iOS 27 focuses on performance enhancements, while macOS 27, dubbed macOS Golden Gate, introduces refined Liquid Glass design elements. The conference also introduced updates for iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27.
Among the most anticipated announcements was the introduction of macOS Golden Gate, which promises improved performance and responsiveness with faster AirDrop, enhanced network file browsing, better syncing in the Messages app, and more efficient Spotlight search suggestions.
iOS 27 not only delivers a more intelligent and personalized Siri but also introduces over 250 changes across various apps like Apple Maps, Find My, Apple Wallet, and Apple Music. However, the update comes with a downside for iPad users, as several older models will no longer support the new iPadOS 27. Similarly, the Apple Watch lineup sees a reduction in supported models, with the removal of the Walkie-Talkie app.
The iPhone 17, with its 8GB memory, misses out on two new Siri AI features requiring 12GB of unified memory, available only on more advanced models like the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Apple’s announcements at WWDC 2026 mark significant strides in integrating AI across its ecosystem, promising enhanced user experiences and more responsive devices.
