In iOS 27, the Calendar and Reminders apps introduce new Apple Intelligence features that enhance their intuitiveness. The Calendar app now supports natural language entry, allowing users to add events by typing descriptions. While not as seamless as Fantastical, it offers improvements, such as automatic time setting and date suggestions. Reminders also benefit from natural language processing, enabling automatic metadata entry like date, time, and location. However, this feature is still in beta and may require manual adjustments.
The event editing interface in Calendar is streamlined for easier time adjustments, and Siri integration allows for more efficient event management. Additionally, the app can alert users before holidays to adjust alarms. Both apps now offer extra-large widgets for better visibility.
Siri’s capabilities have been expanded, allowing it to add events and search across Calendar and Reminders using natural language. Visual Intelligence in iOS 27 enables users to add multiple events from a document or image, such as a sports schedule, directly into the Calendar.
The Reminders app now features improved grocery list sorting and supports more languages. New actions in the Shortcuts app enhance Reminders’ functionality, offering options like creating and deleting groups or lists. To access these Apple Intelligence features, an iPhone 15 Pro or later is required.
