Samsung used its Galaxy Unpacked 2026 experience at Whitespace Manila to introduce the latest foldable range, spotlighting the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 and offering attendees an exclusive first look at Samsung’s next-generation hardware and Galaxy AI.
From the moment the media, content creators and tech enthusiasts entered the venue, Samsung framed the event around hands-on discovery: modern installations, immersive product displays and interactive demo stations let guests test the devices across real-life scenarios rather than only watching a stage presentation.
Galaxy Z Fold8 family: Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra was presented as Samsung’s most advanced foldable to date, aimed at professionals, creators and power users. The Fold8 Ultra showcased an expansive display, seamless multitasking and AI-powered productivity tools intended to help users switch between multiple applications, edit content and manage work on the go while retaining portability.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 was described as a refined foldable focused on entertainment and everyday productivity. Despite its larger display, attendees noted the device felt remarkably lightweight; Samsung highlighted a redesigned hinge mechanism and slimmer profile that make opening and closing smoother, and a vibrant screen for streaming, reading, gaming and browsing.
The Galaxy Z Flip8 emphasized compactness and style. The Flip8 features an upgraded FlexWindow that provides access to key information, AI-powered features and everyday apps without opening the device, positioning it for users who prioritize convenience alongside performance.
AI, cameras and hands-on demos
Artificial intelligence was a major theme across the lineup. Samsung demonstrated Galaxy AI enhancements, saying the new foldables are more intuitive and deliver smarter assistance and personalized recommendations, with capabilities enhanced by Gemini Intelligence and continued commitments to user privacy and security.
Photography demonstrations highlighted the Galaxy Z Fold8’s advanced camera system, which includes dual 50-megapixel sensors. Samsung also showcased Dual Recording, a feature that records both subject and creator simultaneously, a capability aimed at vloggers and content creators.
Throughout the event, attendees moved between zones focused on productivity challenges, gaming sessions, AI demonstrations and camera workshops, reinforcing Samsung’s message that the new devices adapt to different lifestyles rather than forcing users to change how they work or create.
Beyond the product reveals, Samsung framed Galaxy Unpacked 2026 as evidence of foldable maturity: devices that the company says are thinner, lighter, more powerful and more intelligent than previous generations, and ready for everyday use. (with reports from Lau Balocos)
