Austin, Texas — Tempo Software Chief Product Officer Kevin Nanney will deliver a keynote at the Reuters Momentum AI Conference on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at 4:20 p.m. CT on the conference mainstage. The talk will examine why becoming an AI enterprise starts with closing the distance between AI spend and the outcomes that spend is meant to fund.
Nanney will argue that enterprises face two simultaneous imperatives: adopt AI across the business or fall behind competitors, and govern AI spending or lose the authority to continue funding it. His keynote contends that resolving both imperatives together, rather than choosing one over the other, distinguishes organizations that become AI enterprises in practice from those still drafting strategy decks.
Drawing on his experience leading product at Tempo and more than 20 years of product leadership, Nanney will address enterprise leaders responsible for AI strategy, governance, transformation and growth. He will share an example in which two initiatives competing for the same engineering capacity revealed very different underlying stories, and explain why an apparent efficiency problem led to a change in measurement rather than an immediate budget cut.
Closing the AI spend–outcomes gap: Nanney’s three-part method
Nanney will lay out a three-part method he says closes the gap between AI spend and outcomes. First, know what AI agents are doing: what they cost, what they deliver, and how they advance strategic initiatives. Second, replace fragmented AI adoption with a single governed operating model for human and agentic work so every piece of work ties back to strategy. Third, move from static planning cycles to real-time, adaptive planning that surfaces strategic drift early and recommends a course correction the same day it appears, rather than six weeks later at the next review cycle.
He will close with practical starting points for leaders under pressure to show results now, including a recommendation to stay inside the tools teams already use instead of forcing a migration.
