Samsung will add Google Photos integration to its Gallery app, according to an update to the Gallery Cloud Sync system app. The app’s description for version 1.6.09.31, for Galaxy devices running One UI 9.0, introduces Google Photos integration, but the integration was not visible after installing the update on a Galaxy S26 Ultra running the One UI 9.0 beta.
Google Photos integration: what it shows
While the feature is not yet live for all users, some tinkerers on X (@fahadalijaved, @thatjoshguy69, @WigettaGaming) have managed to activate it and shared screenshots. After granting permission for the Samsung Gallery app to integrate with Google Photos, the app displays available Google account storage and provides controls for syncing, cleaning up storage space, and acquiring more storage.
Timing and OneDrive end of support
Microsoft OneDrive integration support for the Gallery app is scheduled to end on September 30, 2026. Since that end date was announced, the source believes Google Photos integration will replace OneDrive starting October 1. OneDrive integration had replaced Samsung Cloud integration five years ago.
