One UI 9.5 testing begins for Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8

Development of One UI 9.5 for Samsung’s latest foldables has officially started: initial internal firmware builds for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra and Flip 8 have been spotted on Samsung’s servers.

Samsung has been testing One UI 9.5 on the Galaxy S26 series for some time, and the S26 lineup will almost certainly be first in line to receive the 9.5 upgrade next year. The new foldables were the first to ship with the stable version of One UI 9.0.

An early look at One UI 9.5 on the Galaxy S26 appeared in August, but showed few noticeable changes at that time, which is unsurprising given the official debut is still a few months away.

One UI 9.5 beta prospects

Samsung could launch a One UI 9.5 beta program for the Galaxy S26 series, the Galaxy Z8 foldables and other eligible devices later this year or in early 2027. Such a beta would let users test One UI 9.5 ahead of its planned official debut on the Galaxy S27 series in 2027.

For now, sightings of internal 9.5 builds on Samsung’s servers mark the start of development for the foldable firmware.
