NEW YORK — Pythag Tech has raised $4.25 million in a seed funding round led by Azolla Ventures to advance its generative artificial intelligence platform intended to boost cultivated meat production processes. The funding will support the development and deployment of that AI platform.
The platform conducts experiments designed to identify areas where production and cost may be optimized. Each experiment focuses on drivers such as growth media, cell line development and bioprocessing.

The company said the platform’s database is capable of providing companies with the intelligence needed to commercially-scale cultivated meat production at an affordable cost, and added that high costs have generated roadblocks in the advancement of the category.
“The next generation of cultivated meat will be defined by how efficiently we can turn scientific experimentation into better production models,” said Sami Nabulsi, chief executive officer of Pythag Tech. “The fundamental case for cultivated meat has never been stronger, but there’s work to be done to make R&D more cost-effective and scalable. We’re building Pythag to solve this problem, and we’re grateful to have the support of incredible investors who believe in the long-term potential of the category.”
