Karlsruhe- and Zürich-based quantum software startup RhymeQ has emerged from stealth with $2.2 million in pre-seed financing to develop Rhyme, a high-level quantum programming platform. The round was led by Ground State Ventures, with participation from Vanagon Ventures, Plug and Play and Freiraum Ventures.
RhymeQ platform and architecture
Rhyme provides a Python-native abstraction layer and an automated debugging environment intended to let developers with standard Python proficiency program and debug quantum software without requiring low-level quantum circuit compilation or gate-level hardware expertise. The platform’s frontend supports standard software developer workflows without manual gate layout. On the compiler side, Rhyme compiles directly to the NVIDIA CUDA-Q framework and includes cross-platform translation for hardware-agnostic execution. Execution targets include multi-vendor QPU routing and classical GPU emulation, enabling runs on GPU-accelerated simulators and on physical quantum hardware backends without hardware lock-in.
Funding use and launch
RhymeQ unveiled the platform during NVIDIA GTC Berlin. The company said it will use the $2.2 million to expand its engineering team, accelerate enterprise platform integration and grow its developer waitlist community.
