China is accelerating the development of AI-integrated smart home appliances, turning advanced connected products into one of the country’s top export items, a trend showcased at the China Import and Export Fair (Guangdong Fair).
Smart home appliances
At the Guangdong Fair, many Chinese consumer electronics firms signalled a shift from selling standalone devices to offering complete smart solutions that address a range of needs. Energy saving has become a top priority as businesses respond to rising energy prices. Dmytro Popravka, a customer from Ukraine, said: “People no longer just control air conditioners in the usual way; everyone wants more smart features, such as automatic energy regulation.”
Manufacturers are also stepping up market specialization with the help of artificial intelligence. “We have developed numerous solutions for dishwasher lift systems and upgraded voice control features, enabling us to serve customers in 160 different markets,” one company stated.
This focus on tailored features and new technologies is helping many Chinese brands win customers in Europe, where demand for energy-saving devices and products that cope with heat has surged. A buyer from Greece shared: “Many Chinese businesses have recently launched successful products in Europe, with innovative designs such as 360-degree air-blowing panels coupled with advanced technology.”
By proactively understanding market tastes and applying AI-driven innovations, Chinese smart home appliance makers are repositioning their brands and becoming a strong export product of the world’s second-largest economy.
