The forthcoming iOS 27 update, which Apple announced recently, introduces several enhancements to the Notes app on iPhone. Currently available as a developer beta, with a public beta expected in July, the full release is anticipated in September.
One of the key additions is “Siri AI,” available on iPhone 15 Pro and newer models. This advanced version of Siri can generate content for notes by retrieving information online, unlike previous versions that relied solely on spoken input. Siri AI also suggests adding messages to Notes based on conversation context.
Another significant update is the ability to copy and paste text using Markdown formatting, simplifying text styling without HTML. Users can now paste Markdown text directly into Notes, which will display the appropriate formatting, such as bold or italic. Conversely, formatted text can be copied as Markdown for use elsewhere.
Additionally, iOS 27 introduces divider lines for better note organization. Users can insert these lines through a new option in the edit menu. The update also allows linking to specific sections within a note, facilitating easy navigation between related notes.
