Samsung is reportedly considering expanding its 4nm capacity to meet rising demand for HBM4 base dies.
Reports say the company is also weighing investment in a new 2nm production line to prepare for HBM5, and that stronger demand has given Samsung increased pricing power.

Why Samsung is expanding 4nm capacity
Samsung’s 4nm production line is currently in full operation. It is used both to produce HBM4 base dies and to manufacture chips for other clients. Given the rising demand for this process node, the company has raised prices for new 4nm foundry orders, and is reportedly considering further capacity expansion alongside potential 2nm investment for future HBM5 production.
