Public Service Data.AI to showcase government data and AI case studies

Top public servants from around the world will gather in London on 15 October 2026 for the Global Government Forum’s Public Service Data.AI (PSDAI) conference, co‑hosted with the UK government. The event will take place at the Business Design Centre in north London and is free to attend for all public servants.

The agenda for PSDAI was developed through engagement with digital, data and artificial intelligence leaders from around the world and is designed to give government digital and data professionals a forum to discuss and strategise the use of data and AI for improved service delivery. Registration information is published for the event.

Senior UK speakers scheduled to appear include Aimee Smith, the UK government’s chief data officer; Shelina Hargrove, deputy director for GOV.UK AI and Chat at the Government Digital Service (GDS); James Mitton, chief AI officer at HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC); and Fiona James, chief data officer at the UK Office for National Statistics. Experts from other governments and countries, including Canada, the United States, Iceland, Germany, Finland and Denmark, will also share insights.

Smith said that data was “the foundation on which better government is built”, adding that administrations able to wield its potential would produce “better policy, better services, better decisions”, and “excel in the adoption of AI”.

“That is why I’m delighted to support Public Service Data.AI and the Data Summit. These events bring together leaders who recognise that the challenge is no longer simply collecting data, but transforming it into real public value,” Smith added.

Public Service Data.AI agenda and themes

The conference will focus on the practical realities of digital transformation across public services. Sessions will cover pathways to modernising digital infrastructure; the opportunities and challenges of improving data‑sharing across departments; building public trust in AI; strengthening leadership and digital capability; and using performance data to improve services. Organisers also plan dedicated time to examine the ethics of modern AI procurement and governance and to explore how to move from pilots to implementing AI at scale in practice.

A full list of speakers is available for attendees wishing to review the programme.
